How this website works
We trust that you will find the Wales in Style website easy to use and navigate. However, you might find the following pointers to the key features helpful.
Search facilities
You can search for products on this website in a number of different ways, depending on preference:
- By selecting the main categories of ‘Places to Stay’, ‘Food and Drink’ and ‘Things to Do’ from the Home page or the top of any page, and then choosing a region from the regional tabs on the left hand side of the page.
- By selecting a region from the ‘Discover Wales’ page and then choosing a category from the tabs on the left hand side of the page.
- By using the Search facility on the left hand side of the Home page and on the bottom of most other pages. Here you can either select a category and then a region, or enter the name or postcode of town or city.
Search results are displayed in a random order, which your computer will subsequently remember (via a cookie) so that you can revisit the search results in the same order later.
The search results can also be re-ordered by price and alphabetically.
Visitors’ favourites
This facility is designed as a helpful starting point for people unfamiliar with the regions of Wales and the many products it has to offer.
The places displayed in this panel on the right hand side of the main category and search pages reflect their popularity with previous visitors to the Wales in Style website. Specific ‘Places to Stay’, ‘Food and Drink’ and ‘Things to Do’ products will feature within this list by virtue of the number of times each product has been selected from the search results pages within the site.
Nearby
This facility provides the nearest three places, within their relevant category, to the product you are currently viewing. It is designed to enable you to plan your visit with a more rounded view of what’s on offer in a particular locality.
The places that are listed are the nearest as the crow flies (using the Streetmap grid-referenced database), not by actual road miles. This means that:
- You may need to factor in more travel time from one place to another than the pure mileage might suggest
- They will often take you into other regions than the one you happen to be looking at whilst reading about a particular hotel, restaurant or attraction (for example).
We hope that you find these features helpful in planning your complete visit to Wales…in style.
