Glitz and glamour on the Llandudno seafront
The Osborne is the kind of hotel that takes your breath away. It’s just not what you expect on the promenade at Llandudno and yet why not? That promenade is a glorious sight and this transformation of what was a crumbling seafront villa might just be the shape of things to come. Anyone contemplating such a project would do well to speak to the Maddocks family first though.
This has been a labour of love for the clan that also own the much loved Empire Hotel just down the road. Each bedroom has been individually lavished with antiques, marble bathrooms and extravagant décor and the whole place has the feel that no expense has been spared. The effect in the public areas is quite dazzling with ornate ceilings, marble fireplaces, original artwork and opulent soft furnishings all competing for the attention of the eye.
Between the glamour of the lounge and the café (it’s more of a brasserie in truth) sits a more contemporary looking bar area with a high marble table and a couple of large plasma screens. What all this adds up to is that the whole place is a great deal of fun and there is a nicely indulgent feeling about staying there.
