Tan-Y-Foel means “house under the hillside” and it’s a phrase which goes some way to capturing the spirit of this very special place. Nestled amongst the trees high upon the slopes above the Conwy Valley, Tan-Y-Foel is just a few miles from the famous town of Betws-Y-Coed and offers spectacular views of Snowdonia.

Houses like this depend very much on the commitment and care of the owners and Janet and Peter Pitman have been lavishing their attention on this lovely property for fifteen years. What they’ve achieved is a neat balance in offering service that is attentive but completely unstuffy, in surroundings that are luxurious, ultra comfortable, and stylish too - with each bedroom being individually designed.

At the heart of the house is Janet’s celebrated cooking, served in a restaurant that seats just twelve and employing the best of local produce in dishes that are both beautifully balanced and imaginative.
