National Mud Festival of Wales
Date: Sep 2008 (annual)
Theme: Air Creatures
Rating: 2 Stars
The Mud Safari involves a trip down to the estuary twice a day at low-tide. Fun and games include the Wellie Wanging Competition and a Tug-of-War, also know as the Mud-of-War.
Visitors can get creative making mud sculptures, a mud hut or even (edible) mud pies. For children there is a chance to create their own Muddy Sea Creature in the dressing-up session, listen to a muddy story or watch a video about mud and its role in the life of birds.
When you've had enough of mud, take a look around the centre, which is home to many birds, including ducks, geese, swans and flamingoes.
