Truly unique place to stay in gorgeous countryside, comes with own railway platform
There are several great reasons why you should look at staying at Snowdonia Manor. The most obvious of which is its magnificent location. The manor is set high up in 160 acres of ancient woodland on the awe-inspiring slopes of the Snowdonia National Park and the Maentwrog Nature reserve. The setting is secluded, the peace and quiet only occasionally broken by the cry of the birds.
Then there is the manor house itself. It claims to be one of the oldest inhabited buildings in all of Wales, dating back to the 15th century. The manor house which has four star rating, sleeps nine in four bedrooms and has a magnificent traditional slate slab floor, huge oak beams, an Aga in the kitchen, and just in case you need it, a minstrel’s gallery too. The cottage has two bedrooms, sleeping four and comes complete with mountain views.
And if you need another reason, it is one of the few private properties in the country with its own private railway stop. At Campbell’s Platform, you just need to stick out your thumb to hail one of the Ffestiniog Railway’s steam trains – ideal for exploring the countryside, no matter what the weather.
