Anglesey's premier purpose built museum and art gallery
The Oriel is a fascinating museum show-casing the Island of Anglesey’s history, culture and wildlife. It’s also a show place for local artists and craftspeople where creative exhibitions from all art forms display the works of established artists and young talents alike.
The gallery was opened as recently as 1991 by HM the Queen and is a leading venue for renowned artists like Sir Kyffin Williams and Charles Tunnicliffe, one of the most famous wildlife painters of his generation.
Themed exhibitions display a fascinating mix of archaeology, social history and works of art. Orial Ynys Mon also stages poetry readings and concerts featuring the best Welsh singers and instrumentalists.
When you visit you’ll have a much better understanding of Anglesey’s culture and history. What is more, you’ll be stimulated enough to discover even more.
