Welsh art takes a step up

This relatively new gallery is a wonderful showcase for Welsh inspired art. As the name suggests the gallery rooms are situated at the top of the building. The spaces have been intelligently refurbished to offer a series of light rooms under rafters above the Waverley Stores health food farm and lend themselves well to the display of fine art.

The Loft Gallery was launched by Dr Caroline Jones who is herself a talented painter of landscapes and seascapes. Other featured artists include Andrew Evans (wildlife paintings), Dr Kate Briscot, Wendy Lovegrove (delicate paintings in oils), Marianne Thune Haycock (pastel drawings of local scenes), David Miller, Ann Morgan and Roy Marsden ARCA-a highly acclaimed UK artist. Also on sale are greetings cards and a selection of glassware and scarves. A must place to visit in Carmarthen for anyone with an interest in quality art. The Loft Gallery is open from Monday to Saturday from 10.30 until 5pm.
