Felin Newydd House

Andy - visited in November 2007

I would say this is definitely the most exclusive place to stay in the whole of Wales, absolute luxury. Everything about Felin Newydd is class, of the highest order and it will never fail to impress. You can take over the whole place if you like which makes it ideal for a special event or for a few families getting together. We’re hoping to go arrange a family reunion there for a weekend which will be superb. The management will arrange everything for you, including the top chefs that they call upon from time to time, but it’s also located in the Brecon Beacons not far from Brecon and close to one of the best gastro pubs in Wales, Felin Fach Griffin which is a must too! The house is beautiful throughout and very classy in every way, even down to the Billiards Room which sets the tone of the place really. I was also fascinated with the family history and the connections with the Dulais Valley in South Wales where there’s a village named after them (I think?) called Seven Sisters. Went to Seven Sisters, not a great place but booked a gorge walk there in the Brecon Beacons with a company called Call of the Wild – which I highly recommend to anyone who can swim!
