This place is an invitation to relax and have fun. There can’t be many who come to Cefnmeurig Cottage and don’t immediately fall in love with this 18th-century farmhouse, renovated with care, imagination and a focus on comfort. The nearest neighbours are about a third of a mile away and the cottage enjoys a setting of almost 100 acres of countryside, where you are much more likely to encounter a squirrel, rabbit, fox or pheasant than another human being.

The refurbishment has been handled with immense sensitivity and the layout of the building still adheres to the original floor plan, but naturally all four of the beautifully appointed bedrooms have en suite facilities. The kitchen with its wood-burning stove is the place to gather for food and drink (high-quality homemade ready meals are available), there’s a games room for the kids and both the lounge and bedrooms offer the utmost in comfort and taste. You even get to slake your thirst on the cottage's own spring water courtesy of a 230ft deep borehole.

The beach is just a 20-minute drive, whilst the charms of Laugharne with its Dylan Thomas associations are just a stone’s throw away.

Winner of the Wales Tourism Award for the Best Holiday Cottage in Wales.
