The ancient village of Grosmont sits deep in the heart of rural Monmouthshire. Here you will discover a grade 11 listed building called Gentle Jane. Linger here an hour or two and you can treat your taste buds to a special meal where the food and drink is as natural as the surrounding countryside.

The teas are from around the world: English Breakfast, Assam, Ceylon, Japanese Cherry, and Egyptian Mint to name but a few. The food is somewhat more Welsh, everything is made from local and seasonal produce. Here you won’t find strawberries in December or asparagus in October, but you will find the freshest and most delicious foods Wales has to offer.

Try Tudge’s sausages and dry cured bacon, Box Farm eggs, Bower Farm dairy produce and honey from the Welsh Mountains. Or why not tempt your palate with Gentle Jane home baked bread and a jam that have both been made in the kitchen next door?
