Named after the daughter of one of its previous owners, Gentle Jane is a Grade 11 listed house in the tiny and ancient Monmouthshire village of Grosmont. It retains much of its original charm yet still boasts all the modern facilities. However you might find the heating and hot water system novel: an under-floor heating system pumps in heat collected from solar energy at a borehole to the front of the house. (It might not surprise you to discover that the owners Linda and Witek are keen environmentalists or that their business has been given the Green Dragon award for its commitment to the environment.)

All of the building’s double bedrooms are located on the first floor and have en-suite bathrooms.
