Category: Mid Wales & The Beacons

Looking for that perfect base from which to explore the green hills and mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park? Baddegai, centrally located and just a stone’s throw from the National Park Visitor Centre in Libanus, is spot on.

The cottage, with big mountain views, sleeps eight in four en-suite bedrooms, three of which have super king-sized beds and all of which can be either twins or doubles. It’s an immaculate barn conversion, undertaken by experienced hosts. There’s plenty of space for everyone, families and groups of friends: the dining room seats 12, and there’s a large utility room plus sun-trap patio, storage for bikes and 3 acres of gardens and paddocks. It’s the perfect base for walkers and country lovers who crave the great outdoors but run a mile from rough-and-ready bunkhouse accommodation.

Baddegai is warm and comfortable, with luxury décor, slate underfloor heating, woodburning stoves, beautiful bathrooms and a contemporary kitchen. The cottage has an away-from-it-all location, yet it’s not remote – you’re a handy five minutes off the main Brecon to Cardiff road. Pen y fan, the highest peak in the National Park, dominates the immediate horizon. But nothing in the Park is far away – it’s only a short drive to other classic Beacons destinations like Llangorse Lake, the Black Mountains, ‘Waterfall Country’ around Ystradfellte and the lively market town of Brecon. The property is pet friendly.
