A beautiful and sturdy stone farmhouse, Pen Y Bont has been refurnished with great care and it’s a treat to witness some of the original features that remain like the inglenook fireplace which still retains the original bread oven. As one would hope the old farm sits in the midst of rolling pasture which eventually gives way to the hills beyond. From the front you can sea the sea and the coastline for which the Lleyn Peninsula is so rightly treasured with its endless hidden coves and unexpected beaches to explore. Pontllfyni is the nearest of these and is sandy when the tide is out.
The aforementioned inglenook is also home to a wood-burning stove which makes this a great little getaway during the winter as well as the summer although the latter does allow the opportunity to throw open the French windows on sunny days and let the sun stream in or take the chance to enjoy the garden. The kitchen is appointed in appropriate farmhouse style but is also extremely well-equipped with modern conveniences and a utility room houses the rest of the essential domestic kit. The three comfy bedrooms are located upstairs, two doubles and a bunk, with a bathroom equipped with both bath and shower (and supplemented by a shower room downstairs).
As well a venturing further onto the Lleyn peninsula, this is a great location to be based for exploration of Snowdonia, the unspoilt Island of Anglesey, the historic town of Caernarfon and much more in the way of Welsh landscape, history and culture.
