The award-winning Nantyffin Cider Mill sits at the foot of the Black Mountains between Crickhowell and Brecon.
Nantyffin Cider Mill has an interesting history. Back in the 16th century it was originally a drover’s inn, then in the 19th century it became, as you might guess from its name, well known for its production of cider. Today it has been lovingly restored to a modern comfortable restaurant and is renowned for its superb cuisine.
The restaurant endeavours to use local produce wherever possible, sourcing from a farm which is just seven miles away. Dishes range from traditional home-style cooking to tantalising international dishes, and the owners promise that you will enjoy 'a dining experience second to none'.
Choices from the seasonal menu include crispy sweetcorn and organic Perl Wen fritters or baked Welsh goats cheese tartlet to start, followed by Nantyffin's confit of lamb or honey and soy-glazed supreme of duck, plus many more.
The Drover Menu has a selection of dishes for a set price for either two or three courses. Examples include fresh pasta open ravioli, grilled fresh sardines, homemade chicken liver parfait to start, home-reared sauté lamb's liver or steak and ale pie for main, and a selection of delicious deserts.
There are always daily specials on the board to tempt you to go for something different, and all food runs seasonally.
