Nant is the Welsh word for a brook and indeed a small stream does run past this pretty and lovingly converted old barn. This is a perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle with fantastic Views over the Cambrian Coastline and its sandy beaches. The mountains of Snowdonia to the north are an invitation to explore but closer to home are the rugged Rhinnog Mountains that tower over the cottage to the east.

Local and natural materials are used extensively within the renovated barn giving Nant a lovely homely feel with real sympathy for the character of the building and the surroundings. Sleeping accommodation comprises a ground floor twin bedroom and a king-sized bed in the ‘grogloft’ overlooking the garden. Nant is laden with carefully chosen fixtures and fittings ranging from handmade brass lamps to furniture bought at local auctions and a bathroom equipped with a convenience of a powerful shower but also a lovingly renovated old cast iron radiator – all typical of the way Nant has been restored with a lot of love and particular care.

The living area includes a small but fully equipped kitchen with oak folding doors at the end of the cottage opening out onto the garden - a perfect spot for a romantic night in, with a wood burner at hand for when the temperature drops.

Nant is based on the ground of the farm at Byrdir – and during the summer months guests are welcome to enjoy the bed and breakfast facilities in the main farmhouse if desired. There is also the opportunity to get involved with some gentle farm work like feeding the pgs, collecting the eggs or just getting acquainted with the ducks.
