Naturally there is an emphasis on the rich culture and history of Wales at its National Museum. This is the place to learn about nation’s great figures – people like Owain Glyndwr and Dylan Thomas for instance. But such is the comprehensive and ambitious nature of the museum that you’ll find a whole host of other fascinating exhibits from the world of art, nature and science together with a regularly changing portfolio of special exhibits and events.

The Art collection at the National Museum Cardiff is one of the finest in Europe. You’ll find five hundred years of magnificent paintings, drawings, sculpture, silver and ceramics from Wales and across the world, including one of Europe's best collections of Impressionist works. There are some stunning archeological finds that tell the history of the nation, together with an impressive natural history section featuring the world's largest leatherback turtle and a live nest of 55,000 leafcutter ants.
