Often referred to as the most attractive village on the Ceredigion coast, the seaside village of Llangrannog lies in a narrow valley surrounded by gorse-covered hills. The area around the village is peppered with sheltered coves which helped to sustain a thriving shipbuilding industry as well as being popular with local smugglers. The village is spread along the valley, with narrow streets which start around the old church then wind their way to the beach where you’ll find a busier area of cafés, pubs and sporting activities. The headland and cliffs to the north of the village are now owned by the National Trust, offering some great views and walking possibilities. The is a wonderful 10-minute walk along the coast at low tide leading to Cilborth Beach. If you like snow sports you’ll be interested to know that there’s an artificial ski slope at the outward bound Urdd Centre, about a mile east of the village. If you’re a novice you can have skiing and snowboarding lessons.
