Go Ape! is a giant obstacle course, but with a slight difference.  Instead of crawling through the mud, you'll find yourself high in the sky going from tree-top to tree-top.  It's a brilliant way to discover your inner simian and challenge yourself like you've never been challenged before.

Safety, is of course, a paramount concern and every visitor will find themselves kitted out with a harness, pulleys and carabiners, before being given a thorough talk by the on-site instructors.  Not that this will lessen the adrenaline rush you'll feel as you take on the ladder, walkways, bridges, zip lines and tunnels on the five-stage course 40 feet up.

  • Highest Point: Site 3, zip line platform at 12.9m
  • Longest zip: Site 5 at 140m
  • Longest Crossing: Railtrack, site 5 at 20.6m
  • Total Length of crossings: 679m
  • Number of crossings: 31
  • Number of sites: 5

Part of a UK wide group, Coed-y-Brenin is the second Go Ape! course to be opened in Wales, the first being in Margram Country Park near Port Talbot, it's part of the established Forestry Commission adventure there.  A third will follow in March 2010 in Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire.
